Hi!
I've set up this blog so I can publish a daily journal about my adventures in South Korea with no doubt there will be plenty of stories to tell.
I will be in the Changnam Province of S. Korea from December 30 through January 31st for the EFL teaching at Dankook University. February 1st I will then set sail by ferry from Pusan, South Korea to Shimonoseki, Japan.
Once in Japan, I will ride the Japan Railway up through Kyoto, where I will stop for a day. The next day I will jump aboard again and ride to Hakone, where I will also stop for a 24 hour break. Once I've seen the hot springs and Kyoto I'll board the JR (Japan Railway) for Tokyo and shack there in a hostel (possibly to meet my dear friend Kiki from Colorado!)
I still haven't quite decided whether I will ride back down to Fukouka and take the ferry back to South Korea for a few days, or stay in Japan to stock up on their fantastic selection of memories and Japanese paraphernalia.
I need to get my hands on a paper map of Korea, so I'm orientated. South Korea's mysteriously blank Google map is a likely result of S. Korea and N. Korea's shaky relations, although South Korea is a Democratic Republic and North Korea a Republic nation. I'm sure I can find a map once I'm through the gates of customs in Seoul.
So, that is what I'm planning so far. I'll post more on the trials of the EFL teaching position, later on. At this point I'm trying to grab an idea of what English games to bring with me. Any suggestions?

Gotta bring Operation! That'll have them screaming in all sorts of languages! What a superlicious way to bond! How about scrabble- they can learn while having fun! And, pictionary, for if verbal communication fails, we can always rely on diagrams, and charades.
Blessings on your journey!!
